Great to welcome Kirith Entwistle MP to Creams Mill last week! Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting Kirith Entwistle MP, Bolton North East, at our Creams Mill development in Little Lever, Bolton. The visit was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the progress being made on site and discuss how Onward is investing in Bolton’s future through high-quality, affordable homes. Kirith’s commitment to improving opportunities for local residents and her advocacy for housing, education, and the NHS aligns closely with our mission at Onward. We were proud to share our work in Bolton North East, where we manage over 1,100 homes across a range of tenures, from general needs to supported housing. The visit also gave us a chance to talk through recent MP enquiries and demonstrate the action we’ve taken to resolve issues for residents, including improvements to repairs and customer service. Thank you to everyone who helped make the visit a success, from our colleagues on site to our partners Watson. Special thanks to Kirith Entwistle MP Entwistle and her team for taking the time to engage with our work and share insights on housing and regeneration. We look forward to continuing the conversation at the Labour Party Conference later this month, where Kirith will be speaking at the Homes for the North reception.
We were proud to stand alongside the Northern Housing Consortium and fellow northern housing partners yesterday to champion the power of housing-led regeneration. At Onward, we see every day how regeneration can transform lives—reviving communities, improving homes, and creating places people are proud to call home. That’s why we’re backing the NHC’s inquiry: “Where’s Next for Housing-Led Regeneration in the North?” It’s a vital opportunity to shape the future of our towns and cities, and ensure investment reaches the people and places that need it most.
On Monday, Onward hosted a Career Event in collaboration with Everton in the Community, welcoming over 50 attendees who were actively exploring career opportunities and apprenticeships within the housing sector.
Over the past few weeks, more than 150 pupils from seven North Liverpool schools have been out in their communities, litter-picking, learning about sustainability and creating inspiring posters to promote environmental responsibility.
We are delighted to have been honoured at the prestigious Housing Digital Innovation Awards for our commitment to improving organisational culture and the wellbeing of our colleagues where Onward received the Most Innovative Approach to Culture & Wellbeing Award in recognition of our ongoing strategy to support the physical and mental health of our employees. Jo Cooley, Head of Colleague Experience at Onward, said: “The health and wellbeing of our colleagues is a key priority for us, in our mission to continuously improve the colleague experience. We are extremely proud to have won this award which recognises all the hard work, and the integral support of our involved groups, through our Colleague Forum and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion network, ‘Equity Forum’.” Onward was commended for its strategy on wellbeing, which includes a range of wide-reaching colleague support, driven through dedicated colleague engagement activities, events and initiatives. In addition, Onward also provides an extensive colleague benefits and wellbeing package, with a clear focus on driving the positive health and wellbeing of its workforce. Onward beat stiff competition on the night (Thursday 8 Feb) to receive the much-coveted award, at a special ceremony hosted at the iconic Birmingham’s Edgbaston Arena. The Digital Housing Awards celebrate the dedication, talent, and drive of those who strive to make UK housing a place of continued innovation and excellence.
