It’s Movember—a month in which we grow mustaches and raise awareness of men’s health—and we just wanted to say how much we appreciate all surgeons and care teams, especially the urologic surgeons who have been using da Vinci systems since 2000 to deliver minimally invasive care to patients around the globe. Innovation is a continuous journey, and since we unveiled the first da Vinci decades ago, we’ve continued to deliver solutions like da Vinci SP, our single-port system that offers alternative and narrow access surgery—all through a single incision. Our commitment to advancing minimally invasive care doesn’t stop with robotic-assisted systems. We’re here to connect and collaborate with people. At DRUS in Germany and at AFU in France, we’re focusing our attention on patients of urology procedures—with an emphasis on better outcomes and better patient experience. Transforming surgery, again. That’s Intuitive.

Empowered women empower women. This is the motto of Women in da Vinci Surgery (WIDVS), a now global community of female surgeons who empower one another through networking, learning, growing, and celebrating achievements together. During a recent two-day, interdisciplinary workshop in Freiburg—in collaboration with the association Die Chirurginnen e.V.—attendees had the opportunity to train on da Vinci Xi and da Vinci SP surgical systems. Experienced surgeons also presented their path through the robotic curriculum and gave helpful tips and tricks about robotics. “We are delighted to have created such a platform with Intuitive,” said Asin Dorenkamp, colorectal surgeon and proctor for Intuitive. “This is the perfect opportunity for our participants to delve deeper into the field of robotics. We want to support women and create the environment to network and inspire each other.” Inspiring women. Empowering each other. Growing together. That’s Intuitive.

Earlier this year, we introduced da Vinci SP to Europe—expanding the existing da Vinci X and Xi ecosystem with a versatile and high-performance single-port robotic surgical system. Pioneers of robotic-assisted surgery in Europe have already used the system to complete more than 1,000 procedures—delivering less invasive care to patients across the continent. To us, this isn’t just a number or a milestone. It’s a leap forward as we strive to realize a future of care that is profoundly better. This achievement belongs to forward-thinking surgeons and care teams across Europe, and the many patients who trusted them. Thank you. Together, we’re transforming surgery.
Decades have passed since the first da Vinci sat onstage in an exhibition hall. Robotic-assisted surgery was still so new; but even then, there were pioneering surgeons who saw and helped us realize the potential. It wasn’t just a robot on a stage. It was a future of care designed to be less invasive and profoundly better. We’ve come a long way since then, together. The early pioneers became our customers. We listened to and learned from them. We built and iterated our way through five generations of da Vinci, which have been used to perform 14+ million procedures worldwide. Every 13.8 seconds, another da Vinci procedure begins. After all these years and all this progress, one thing remains unchanged. Why we do it. At Intuitive, we believe down to our very bones that minimally invasive care is life-enhancing care—and all patients deserve that. #WeAreIntuitive

“Celebrating Diwali at Intuitive is an incredible opportunity to share my culture and traditions with my colleagues. It’s inspiring to see everyone come together to honor the spirit of the festival, making Intuitive feel like a true community,” says Prakruti Talreja, quality engineer and Sunnyvale co-chair of InPAC, Intuitive’s Employee Resource Group (ERG) for Asian and Pacific Islander employees and allies. Last week, employees at our Sunnyvale and Peachtree Corners locations joined in vibrant Diwali celebrations, marking the Festival of Lights. Sponsored by InPAC, the event had its highest participation yet—reflecting our ongoing commitment to fostering a workplace where everyone feels they belong. “Diwali isn’t just a celebration; it’s a chance to strengthen bonds and honor the rich diversity within our Intuitive family,” shares Shreyas Shivanna, manufacturing engineer and InPAC co-chair in Peachtree. For Shreyas, being part of this ERG is about more than cultural events—it’s about creating impact. “Leading this ERG allows me to follow my passion for increasing representation of Asian employees at all levels. It’s deeply fulfilling to serve others while building connections with colleagues I might not otherwise meet.” At Intuitive, we know that belonging is more than a feeling—it’s a culture we nurture every day.
