April 14, 2026 - We are proud to announce that 22 HumanGood life plan communities have received a “Best” recognition by U.S. News & World Report in their 2026 “Best Senior Living” awards. U.S. News & World Report evaluated more than 3,000 senior living communities through resident and family surveys and rated them by assessing perception of overall satisfaction and core services (management, dining, caregiving and nursing). Communities were evaluated across four categories: Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care and Continuing Care Retirement Communities. Less than 2,000 communities evaluated earned a “Best” recognition and only 61 were recognized as “Best Continuing Care Retirement Community”. In total, 22 HumanGood communities received recognition for one or more categories, while ten communities were recognized as “Best Continuing Care Retirement Community.” These ratings showcase HumanGood’s commitment to helping our residents live their best lives and represents the outstanding work of our team members every day. We are proud to announce that nine HumanGood communities have been recognized by Newsweek and Statista in their 2026 America’s Best CCRC listing. Newsweek partnered with Statista, a global market research and consumer data firm to evaluate 330 continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) across the United States. The list factors in four data sources: national online survey based on medical professionals scores and acquaintances/residents scores, visitor satisfaction score, accreditation score and Google reviews score. Valle Verde in Santa Barbara, California earned the top rank of communities across the United States with a score of 93.27%. What about HumanGood’s culture stands out to you? HumanGood leadership makes it a priority to ensure teams that might otherwise operate in siloes are giving input to and receiving input from other teams. For example, in the affordable housing industry it’s common that developers don’t sufficiently consider the long-term ramifications of their decisions. But the HumanGood development team has regular meetings with operations teams. These meetings allow us to (a) tap into the resources of both sides to tackle immediate problems and (b) learn more about how things are playing out at properties that are now operational. Absent this regular communication, we would be at risk of repeating mistakes. Second, it stands out to me that HumanGood takes seriously the wellbeing of employees. Too many organizations are burdened by a culture that puts so much pressure on employees that people burn out and quit. This is especially a problem in affordable housing, where projects are multi-year endeavors. HumanGood is intentional about determining whether it makes sense to take on an opportunity, and a major consideration is assessing staff capacity to ensure taking something on does not overburden the team. June 6, 2025 – Fitch Ratings assigned an ‘A’ rating to HumanGood’s California Obligated Group planned bond issuance and affirmed its broader Issuer Default Rating at ‘A’ with a stable outlook. “Fitch expects HGCOG to continue leveraging its economies of scale and centralized strategic resources to navigate industry-wide operating pressures,” Fitch stated in its report. Fitch also pointed to HumanGood's strong management practices around managing costs, maintaining high occupancy rates and enhanced cash flow generation as additional factors for the ‘A’ rating. Fitch also maintained its ‘BBB’ rating with a stable outlook for HumanGood Pennsylvania.

Fitch upgrades HumanGood California Obligated Group rating to ‘A’ with a stable outlook By HumanGood December 11, 2024 – Fitch Ratings has upgraded our rating for the HumanGood California Obligated Group and its 12 life plan communities to ‘A’ from ‘A-‘, with a stable outlook. “This upgrade in rating for the California Obligated Group is representative of the dedication and commitment demonstrated by our team members, residents, family members and partners to the important work that we do, each and every day,” said John Cochrane, president and CEO, HumanGood. “We are proud to have our efforts recognized by Fitch Ratings as we continue to inspire the best life for everyone in the HumanGood family.” The upgraded rating of ‘A’ reflects HumanGood’s improved balance sheet metrics and continued strong operating performance, according to Fitch. “Fitch expects HGCOG to continue to capitalize on its economies of scale and centralized strategic resources to manage through industry-wide operating pressures,” Fitch stated in its report. Fitch also pointed to HumanGood's strong management practices around managing costs and maintaining high occupancy rates as additional factors for the ratings upgrade.
