Recently, you may have seen lots of #2016 posts... people sharing what they were up to 10 years ago. At Dungarvin in 2016, we acquired North Carolina services plus additional services in Indiana, adding around 1,000 employees to our total workforce! At the same time, our mission statement evolved to what it is today: “To Respect and Respond to the Choices of People in Need of Supports.” We’re thankful to be able to provide supports 10 years later, and we hope to be doing the same in 2036!
This year's Saint Paul Winter Carnival in Minnesota is off to an incredible start... even with temperatures as low as -19 F! This weekend featured the knighting of some of the individuals we serve, their chance at being featured in a Minnesota Wild game, and the opportunity to see Rice Park decorated. It's extra special to share this experience with our founders, Diane and Tim Madden, and all the staff and individuals we support who braved the extreme weather to come together to celebrate.
Witnessing individuals accomplish their goals and become more independent is one of the greatest joys and successes for Dungarvin support staff. In Colorado, Derek is one of those individuals, and his support staff are so impressed with him. 🍎 An incredible opportunity for partnership became reality for Dungarvin Minnesota and the individuals we support in late November. Through a grant from the Minnesota Department of Health, free dental care will be provided directly to individuals we support in designated homes in the Twin Cities metro area. Did you know December is the National Giving Month? Attendees of Dungarvin California’s Day Programs regularly give back to their communities in December, and all year round. In fact, groups from several different programs are logging hundreds of hours, including Meals on Wheel deliveries, picking fresh vegetables for families in need and caring for special-needs cats in shelters.
Dungarvin Wilmington of North Carolina recently held their Thanksgiving luncheon and celebrated this season of gratitude by expressing theirs. “We’re always thankful for family, careers, wealth, etc., but the most consistent thing we are thankful for is each other and having the opportunity to have been together as a team for some 20 years,” Jenell Yearwood explained. “This is the best team I have ever worked with, and I truly mean that!”
Several members of the Dungarvin Indiana team had the opportunity to attend the INARF 2025 Annual Conference in Indianapolis. The group chose from 20 different educational sessions, connected with others in the industry, and participated in a variety of conference events. Congrats to everyone for continuing to stay educated on best practices in our industry!
