Problem-solving and collaboration shatter the 12" sonic ceiling. When Cascade crews realized that the traditional twelve inch diameter casing wasn't going to cut it for two sonic drilling projects, they teamed up with a local machine shop to design and manufacture our first-ever 14” sonic casing. Check out the footage of this beauty in action! The crew has since successfully installed large diameter wells on both project sites in Delaware and Indiana. Thanks, Rob D., for sharing this uplifting update from the field! Our team is here to work with you, think outside the box, and get the job done. Story from Rob D. National Account Manager for Cascade Environmental: Until recently, the largest diameter our teams in the northeast and midwest could sonically drill was twelve inch diameter. That was the ceiling for 20 plus years—until two recent projects forced us to rethink what was possible. In partnership with a local machine shop, we designed and manufactured our first-ever 14” sonic casing. The design had to be spot-on and the tolerances were tight. But our team pulled it off with successful installation of large diameter wells in Delaware and Indiana. We demonstrated we could not only push past our previous limits and deliver something that not only works—but raise the bar for what can be done going forward. Proud of this one and the team that made it happen; Jim McCombs, Josh Siegler, Dennis Robins, and the rest of the crews on the job.

Safety will always be our number one priority. When a team logs tens of thousands of man hours on a project with no injuries, that's an accomplishment that demonstrates a commitment to safety that deserves to be recognized! After the recent, successful completion of an extended project, Director of Operations Andrew Whitsell, MBA, CPG had this praise to share with his crew: "I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who played a vital role in the Southern California Coring project during 2024 and 2025. This was a collaborative effort between drillers and assistants from 5 different offices and ancillary support from many others. Overcoming challenges related to access, weather, drilling methods, and specialty tooling, we collectively achieved over 20,000 on-site man hours with zero injuries‚ an outstanding accomplishment that speaks to our dedication to safety and teamwork. Thank you all for your hard work, meticulous planning, and commitment to delivering this project on time, under budget and most importantly - SAFELY. Keep up the amazing work."

Jobsite safety is a team effort. Before work begins on any project, our crews hold a daily "tailgate safety meeting," where every team member must review and complete the pre-task assessment, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and required safety documents. From confirming that our employees have task-appropriate PPE to performing pre-shift inspections, this intentional pause helps us deliver higher quality work, bring attention to safety from focused crews, and avoid incident-related delays on your project. Check out Cascade's CORE™ Health and Safety Program to learn more: https://lnkd.in/g4zDqsdY

Urban environments almost always bring access challenges, but this redevelopment site in Brooklyn, NY, proved exceptionally difficult. With the treatment zone situated between two 24-story buildings and significant underground debris limiting which equipment could be used, the Cascade team needed to deliver a purpose-built ISS solution to stabilize this coal tar-related MGP contamination. Unless you’ve been hiding in a cave, you’ve probably noticed how busy the geotechnical drilling scene is around New York. At ADT, we’ve got the capacity, flexibility, and fleet to deploy multiple rigs on large, complex job sites — often on short notice. This summer is definitely pushing our limits, but we’re rising to the challenge with another multi-rig project to support a valued client and contractor. NYC is buzzing, and so are we! There’s a certain beauty in the chaos of our urban jungle — and the end results always deliver some seriously impressive views. Drill Scope...This project featured two D50 rigs running day and night shifts — whatever the client needed to navigate site constraints. Standard SPT sampling and rock coring were performed, and our ability to adapt to scheduling demands (along with the right certifications) has been key to success on this site. Whether it’s on land or over water — anywhere in the Northeast or across the country — our expert team is ready to help.

Rig maintenance and refurbishment aren't simply routine upkeep. It's integrating emission-control technologies, it's swapping out hydraulic systems and engines for greater fuel efficiency, it's real-time equipment monitoring to identify issues before they become problems. Because the goal is to deliver efficient, safe, and sustainable results for your projects every time.

As we kick off National Safety Month, we'd like to highlight the Cascade Card Program, an initiative that empowers employees to not only recognize unsafe conditions but also stop work and correct them! Thanks to observant and proactive team members, some recent safety wins include: recognizing a ruptured airline on a tow truck and red-tagging the vehicle until it could be repaired, finding and replacing broken bolts and rigging straps during pre-trip and routine inspections, and halting drilling when a layer of pea gravel was discovered at 17 feet below grade. For each of these incidents, employees submit a Cascade Card that describes the potential risk and what actions they took to mitigate that risk. If you'd like to learn more about our CORE™ Health and Safety Program and how to ensure a safer project site, visit our website here: https://www.cascade-env.com/about-us/safety-program/

Today's employee shoutout goes to Patricia Landry and it comes with a little backstory... Recently, a client gave us this feedback: "I wanted to send a big thank you for all of the work completed over the past two months. We felt it went really well, in large part to the Cascade staff on-site. Everyone was incredibly helpful, professional, and easy to work with. I’d also like to thank Patty for all her efforts related to the City permitting." Now for the behind-the-scenes: Due to the road work involved, this project required multiple street opening permits, and even though Patricia had never worked with a municipality to get these types of permits, she was able to navigate the city's systems and successfully get all the necessary paperwork so that the project could start on time. We're proud of you, Patricia, and your can-do spirit! Please join us in celebrating her.
