Our Caregiver of the Month, Nurse Upasna, shared that she is proud to be a nurse because it lets her connect with people and gives her an opportunity to help others in need.
To all the nurses, psws and caregivers, our team sees you! Nurse Kelly also shares her inspiring path to becoming a nurse: "Since I was a little girl, I always wanted to pursue a nursing career. However, when I was in high school, I met my husband and he joined the fire department. Well I quickly learned how exciting the fire department was and decided to pursue a career in firefighting. I worked as a volunteer firefighter for 14 years. When the job my husband and I were both working for closed down, I went back to pursue my original career choice as a nurse (at the age of 31). So, began my career as an RPN. I recently completed my BsCN from University and will soon write my NCLEX."
Happy Nursing Week to all our nurses, psws, and caregivers. You are the solid rock foundation in our community. From the CareHop Team.
Nurse Kelly shares her passion for nursing in beautiful words: "Being a caregiver provides a sense of pride and joy that most people don't experience in their day jobs. I love being able to provide care to my patients that I would expect someone to provide to my family members. I feel like I connect with my patients and their families because I put myself in their shoes. I consider the communication and care I would wish to have and I provide that same courtesy to them. I provide my clients with the respect and dignity that they deserve regardless of their disabilities."
