"Shawn Riegsecker may not be able to completely reverse what’s being described as The Great Resignation, but he and his team are working to ensure more marketers and ad agency staffers have fewer reasons to quit. As the CEO of Basis Technologies, Riegsecker is focused on using automation as a way to not only improve the performance of an ad or marketing campaign, but the workflows within the teams that conceive and execute them. “Real work around diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) requires long term personal effort and continuous learning and improvement. As part of my company’s executive leadership team, effecting change to improve our company’s representation and our commitment to DEI requires my own personal commitment, responsibility and need for self-development. My company invests in the growth of our team members, while cultivating a culture of responsibility and accountability for everyone’s own self-development. As I think about my personal accountability and self-improvement, my DEI journey comes to mind.” Read more from Basis Technologies’ Emily Barron in HR.com
Basis Technologies (formerly Centro) was selected as one of the top workplaces in Dallas. “This enterprise software firm is based in Chicago. Through a single user interface, the company says its Basis software converges the entire advertising workflow, enabling marketers to plan, buy, analyze and streamline campaigns for programmatic, direct, search and social campaigns. During the pandemic, the company encouraged workers to take advantage of benefits to cope with additional stress and anxiety, including its flexible time off policy, virtual coaching sessions, free access to Headspace (a mediation app) and Maven, an online support platform for new parents.”
Basis Technologies announced that it has been positioned as a ‘Challenger’ in the 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Ad Tech. Released to the market four years ago, Basis Technologies’ platform is included in 2021 Magic Quadrant and its associated Critical Capabilities for Ad Tech report for the second year in a row. Gartner’s 2021 evaluation was conducted while Basis Technologies operated as “Centro.” According to Gartner in its report, “Challengers in this Magic Quadrant have the scale and expertise to deliver efficient and effective ad solutions but lag the leaders in innovation, scope of offerings and organizational stability.”
Centro (now Basis Technologies) won an AdExchanger Award for Best Educational Tool or Program. Basis Certified, which was also a 2020 AdExchanger Award finalist, is a world-class digital advertising education program designed to elevate the knowledge and capabilities of marketers. Attendees completing the program feel more empowered to manage high-performing campaigns. When COVID-19 hit, Basis Technologies responded quickly to office shutdowns and stay-at-home orders by bringing educational programming to professionals nationwide to their home offices. If people can’t come to Basis Certified, Basis Certified comes to them.
From MediaPost: Centro rebranded to Basis Technologies on Friday, and next week will add research and benchmarking tools to its automated software offering for enterprise marketers. “Marketing is a battle of perception in the minds of your customers and decision makers in the industry,” said Shawn Riegsecker, CEO at Basis, quoting from a book by Al Ries and Jack Trout. “Perception is reality and everything else is just an illusion.” Riegsecker said that the executive team needed to either spend years, energy and marketing dollars repositioning Centro as the industry changed, or rebrand the company with the name of the signature platform, Basis, which launched in early 2018.
After twenty years, we (Centro) are officially changing the name of our corporation to Basis Global Technologies. This change signifies our longstanding commitment and mission to develop a leading cloud-based workflow automation and business intelligence software platform for marketing and advertising.
Centro is a 2021 Momentum Awards finalists! This year’s finalists were chosen from a competitive and impressive pool of ~200 nominees. After a difficult deliberation, our judges have selected an incredible group of innovators, entrepreneurs, and businesses that are leading the way in their industries and communities. The five award categories include: Rising Star Award, Momentum Award, CityLIGHTS Award, Outstanding Tech CEO Award, and Industry Disrupter Award.
