In August, our BD Brazil office held a "take your kid to work" day and over 100 kids attended. It was a proud moment for parents at BD to share with their kids what they do each day. Gabriel Gomes, Cyber Security Officer, said, "It was so great to show my daughters what a friendly culture we have and introduce them to the people I work with each day. They enjoyed the entertaining day BD provided them and getting their very own BD badge!".
Last week, BD hosted the Chief Manufacturing Officer for the State of Connecticut at our Canaan, CT site to discuss the importance of maintaining a robust supply of syringes to support critical public health needs. Since 1961, when our Canaan site produced the first-ever fully sterile, single-use disposable plastic syringe, the team has a played a major role in responding to health care crises across the globe – from smallpox to H1N1 and most recently COVID-19 vaccinations. Today, we’re proud to manufacture more than two billion syringes in Canaan annually.
