      Entretien pour Senior Digital Strategist

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris plus d'une semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez nFusion (Austin, TX) en sept. 2013

      Entretien

After applying online, I reached out to nFusion's recruiter directly on LinkedIn, because I saw a great fit for my skill set directing strategy and user experience. He was very responsive and excited. Upfront, he wanted to bracket first that we were in the same salary ballpark, which we were. After a short discussion, he referred me to the person I'd be reporting to for a 30 minute interview, which was followed up by another pair of interviews with the Chief Digital Officer and a Sr. Producer. Finally, I was asked to come in for a morning of interviews, where I spoke to the CEO, COO, Group Creative Director, VP Business Development, VP Interactive, Interactive Producer and HR Manager. Throughout the process, questions ranged from my past experience, to my reasons for seeking employment, to my interest in their company. They mostly wanted me to talk, to ask questions that would make sure I had what I needed to make a decision. In fact, the Chief Digital Officer even provided a long followup call with me the next week, to help me answer additional questions. They don't ask any 'trick' or 'lateral thinking' questions (e.g., "Explain Digital Strategy to your 6 year old nephew"). They never tried to put me off guard (or on guard) at any point, which I very much appreciated. They treat interviews as conversations, not interrogations. I was a bit surprised that no one asked to talk directly about my work experience in digital strategy. I had several examples prepared to discuss. I would have liked to hear more about the specific ways they applied converged media principles to their clients, but the interviews were a bit too short, and it didn't feel appropriate to dig deep. Regardless, I found the company to be very pragmatic about who they were and what they did. Honest and sincere, with a focus on substance, not image.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

As I said before, the questions were direct inquiries into my interests and past experience. I don't get nervous in interviews, but you should expect frank, direct questions about you, your work and your fit with the company.
