I was approached by a company recruiter which is pretty standard. The recruiter answered some questions about the company and made sure I could speak english. She then set up a call with the hiring manager. We talked for a few minutes about MVC concepts and some other engineering concepts. Nothing too hard. The hiring manager then asked me to submit a code sample based on some example. It was to implement a few model classes in Rails for a small bank application that kept track of a person's account balance. I submitted the code and was not brought in for an interview. I asked for feedback on my code, but did not receive any.
