passes HR interview but is excluded in the later process. HR interview was just something about my skills and understanding. also, they asked about my experience and about tools used in my previous job.

The interview process consisted of a phone screen, a take-home challenge, and then an onsite interview. The phone screen started with basic questions (what is your experience, what do you want to do with your life, salary, etc). We then went on to technical data science questions. Be sure that you understand the details of the models you have used in the past (i.e. understand how neural networks or random forests work). From the ad and the discussion, Idealo was clearly looking for someone with neural network experience. The take-home challenge required performing a data analysis task. I think I had 24 hours to complete it and create a presentation over the results. This was easily doable within the time frame given. Finally, I was invited onsite to give the presentation in person. This interview took about 2 hours. The first hour was questions concerning the technical experience I have, and I presented during the second hour. I was not offered the position, but the interview was completely fair. If I could do the process again, I would have spent more time on the presentation and made it less technical. I would certainly apply at Idealo again in the future.
