I had cursory interviews with functional leads of a software development area. As is usually the case, the people were not sufficiently invested in the screening process to put much thought or preparation into the interviews. eSecuritel is not unique in this respect.
Once the team determined that I practiced good hygiene and could get in and out of a chair without hurting myself, they passed me to more senior managers. The senior staff seemed equally unaware that they would have to perform interviews that day.
In the end, I think that they made broad assumptions about my willingness to stay on board. This was probably due to a work history that was more rigorous than the demands of the job that I was applying for. It's hard to convey when you want to try something new or different without the typical corporate culture trying to keep you in a box. I failed in that respect.
