I applied for a senior software engineer role. I felt I have every necessary skill with enough experience in a working environment.
The first stage was over the phone. The interview was easy, the interviewer was nice. After that I felt everything had been OK, I was sure that we can progress.
Just some general questions about my experience technologies what I’ve used and why I want to change country. They were very much interested in my newly started home project. Unfortunately, it is not public now, I couldn’t present it to them, because the quality is not a prod quality at the moment, I am just trying out techs at the beginning.
So, they promised prompt answer. After that wasn’t coming through in couple of days, I thought it was a NO. I had to wait 2 weeks for the final decline letter which stated no reasons behind the rejection. I feel it was down to money, because I ticked every other box. But I am I big guy, I can handle the reason whatever it is. Would be good to know.
