J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 2 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez Zscaler (San Jose, CA) en sept. 2021
Entretien
Recruiter approached me through LinkedIn and setup 4 virtual zoom interviews in 2 days. Since the position was for a newly team, the interviews went well and I liked the interviewers ways of handling, approach, and respect for me.
The next days recruiter sent an email and asked me to have another 3 rounds of interviews and I explained that I have already had that. Later on he realized and mentioned to me that he for positive feedbacks from all the interviewers however there is another candidate ahead of me and in discussion for offer letter. He also mentioned that the another candidate is lingering since past 6 weeks and made verbal offer.
IDK why recruiter was again trying to have interviews if there is already a finalist candidate with whom they are talking even before my process started. It’s completely waste of time and I felt the recruiter is not reliable. He should respect candidate time.

Question 1
LinkedList operations

Kafka streams basic
Microservice vs monolithic, use cases, scaling issues
Elasticsearch queries and performance
Basic Java Qs
Managerial was super awesome, we shared ideas and discussed tech
Then came the extremely baffling round. The guy asked me to code something, personal opinion I was doing pretty good up until that point, but I got confused in some context related stuff in golang while I was writing the code in notepad. The guy with a grin said and I quote "you must be using a lot of AI to write code" to which I replied I use intellisense and that has made me a little forgetful and he didn't know what intellisense is lol at which point we got into an argument and he disconnected.
Thoroughly unprofessional!

After I applied on their website, the recruiter called me for this role and this is how the conversation went:
Recruiter - Hey, you applied for this role?
Me - Yes I did. Can we talk a bit more about the role?
R - There is nothing much to talk about. You applied so you should have read it.
Me - Okay.
R - Can you share your current compensation?
Me - Sorry I am not comfortable sharing it right away. Can you share what exact level are you considering me for and will you be comfortable sharing the range instead?
R - I have called directors, VP of various organization and everyone shares their compensation with me. If you cannot share, we cannot move ahead.
Me - Its great that everyone shares that information with you but please don't compare me with them. Please politely disagree if you don't feel comfortable. I have never had this sort of experience with any other recruiter.
R - I have also not seen any candidate like this. Since you don't want to proceed, lets end it.
Summary - This was the most weird call I have had with any recruiter or with anyone for that matter. Only God knows how they hire such sort of rude recruiters who does not know how to build relationships with candidates or want to take it forward. They should be more humble in their conversation.

I applied through other sources.
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Zscaler (Sanjose CA) in Jan 2022
I had 4 technical rounds then they will add up the performance of all the rounds and will let us know if selected for the next managerial round.
The first 4 technical and the last one were taken by the Director. Mostly you are selected if you have reached the last round. It was a very smooth process.
The HR was quite interactive throughout the process.
