Initially very optimistic considering the emphasis the company says they place on employees and the generally good ratings they have in employee satisfaction. During my initial meeting, the recruiter was late to our call by more than 5 minutes. Then they condescendingly said I might want to have my resume handy to reference and asked if I was only interested in this role to get my foot in the door for bigger tech companies even though I’m currently employed at a large tech company. This should have been a clue, but I accepted the next round interview with the hiring manager because again, I’ve heard amazing things about the Zoom culture. Interview with the hiring manager was run of the mill and fairly robotic. Typical behavior scenario questions that you’ll encounter at similar companies. What struck me as extremely odd was after we were done with questions, I thanked the interviewer for their time and they said “You’re welcome” and just disconnected the call. No bye, I’ll follow up with the recruiter, or anything. I was excited about this possible opportunity, but I have a feeling I might have dodged a bullet.
