      Entretien

The initial phone call was via Microsoft teams where I had my camera on but the interviewer did not. The questions here were the standard HR interview to see if you are a good fit and have some knowledge, and to learn what your experience was. My second interview was with the director for the department where he asked me 100% pure software questions that would be expected for someone who is of a pure 100% software background, not an embedded software background. They did not ask me any relevant questions for an embedded software position, commented many times at how I seemed entry level--despite applying for the supposed entry level position--and this displeased them. For example regarding questioning, when being interviewed for an embedded software position, one would expect questions on what is the volatile type and where is it used? What are interrupts and how do you handle them? There are billions of questions that could be asked in the embedded software field that draw on some knowledge of how it is used to interface with hardware, and instead I was asked about if I knew how to code for networking. In general, it felt there was a real disinterest in interviewing for this role on the interviewer's side. Best of luck to anyone else who interviews here.
