I applied online through an ad on LinkedIn. The process was fairly quick and straightfoward. The recruiter first called me and in addition to soft questions ran through a set of simple technical questions (how many bits in a byte, etc). Then there was a online interview over Skype and then a timed programming exercise to be done online. Finally there was a in-person interview. The technical questions during the in-person interview were fairly easy (anagram, difference between Java/C, creating an index).

Intense process. First interview with the Director of Engineering.
Then a panel interview with 5 rounds of interviews of 45 minutes in a row.
Then was ghosted for 2 weeks and received a template negative answer by email without motivating their decision.
I still don't know why they didn't chose me. Left me bitter asking myself if I wasn't victim of discrimination.
several rounds of remote interviews with hr and peers. all rounds focused on different areas of the the role and were structured alongside a interview guide. the interviewers were really friendly and helped me getting to a good answer.

Entretien
Interviewed by the hiring manager. Easy standard soft skills/leadership questions, scripted, not very engaging. I was told everything went very well, I should hear back in the next day.
GHOSTED for 3 weeks, during which I followed up with both the recruiter and the hiring manager, then I get a generic thank you we have decided to move forward with another candidate email.
