Unprofessional and misleading interview process — serious doubts about technical competence at Yara International.
The interview process at Yara International was disorganized, misleading, and showed a lack of respect for the candidate’s time and effort.
I was explicitly promised that the second technical interview would include a review of my submitted assignment, along with technical discussion and an opportunity to ask questions about the team and process. Instead, none of this happened. The session turned into an hour of mostly basic, unfocused questions that bore no resemblance to what was communicated.
The lead interviewer, admitted he had not reviewed my CV, my code, or my documentation beforehand. This left the strong impression that my preparation and work had not been valued at all.
The interview was entirely one-sided — designed only to extract from the candidate, with no attempt to demonstrate the competence, professionalism, or culture of the team itself. Communication throughout the process was inconsistent and misleading, and there was no feedback provided on the assignment I had spent considerable time preparing.
Ultimately, I withdrew my application. This process fell far below the standards expected from a serious engineering organization and raised major doubts about the technical competence of the team and the culture at Yara International. I cannot recommend engaging with their hiring process.
