I recently attended a face-to-face interview for a Senior QA position at [Company Name]. The overall experience was disappointing due to a lack of professionalism in the interview process.
Firstly, the travel itself took over 1.5 hours, and upon reaching the venue, I had to wait an additional 2 hours before the first round of the interview began. The interview itself was fairly straightforward and lasted for over an hour. Based on my performance, I was confident that I had cleared the round and expected to proceed to the second round, which was scheduled on the same day.
However, after the interview, an HR representative informed me that they would communicate further details later and that I could leave for the day. While it is understandable that they might have already found a suitable candidate, the lack of communication regarding my interview outcome was disappointing.
Despite following up via email, I never received any feedback—neither positive nor negative. This lack of response comes across as highly unprofessional, as every candidate deserves to know their interview results. Interestingly, before the interview, I received multiple calls from HR daily, but once the interview was completed, there was no courtesy to even send an automated rejection email.
Advice to future candidates: If you are considering an in-person interview, I would strongly recommend ensuring that you clear the initial rounds virtually before committing to travel. This can save you significant time and effort.
Would not recommend this experience to others.
