      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez XPO (Greenwich, CT) en nov. 2018

      Entretien

Like several others who posted here, I also had a very poor experience with this company. I made the mistake of not reading the interviews for this company and regretted it after my horrific interview experience with them. Recruiter contacted me and after a standard interview (very pleasant), I had 4 more interviews via phone with 2 peers on the team, the hiring manager and a random VP from a different division. The hiring manager (my would be boss) called me about 10-15 minutes late to the interview. I didn't think much of it and understand things come up all the time. Things went well at that point and then I was invited to fly out to corporate for on site interviews, and this is where it went downhill. I ended up talking to about 5 other senior HR Directors, VPs and SVPs. The CHRO had a conflict and I never got the chance to interview with her. All the interviews seemed disorganized, interview questions were vague, more conversational with no process outlined or defined assessment expectations. The second person I interviewed with, a Senior Director, as not impressive at all. Had a really immature personality and seemed very standoff-ish, was very amateurish and obnoxious. He was not familiar with the attributes or description of the job at all. By the look at his Linked-In profile, he had just recently been hired as a senior director and his inexperience really showed. Then when I met with the hiring manager, or my would-be boss, a "Senior Director" (whom I had many more years of director level experience than she did), she arrived about 30 minutes late to our interview with no explanation or apology. I sat in the meeting room for that time with no updates from anyone, I was confused and wanted to start walking around looking for her office. Then when she talks to me she mentions that she would change my reporting structure and that the role suddenly had less responsibility than I was originally led to believe. On top of that, she proceeded to tell me that she had just performed a mass layoff and I was going to be the clean up guy. Not at all what I was let to believe! The rest of the interviewers were actually nice but a few had no personality at all, and just wanted to rush through the interview since the hiring manager pushed everyone off schedule. I specifically was interested in XPO because of their stability and growth, and supposedly being hired into their strongest division as a top HR Director. I was surprised to hear how unstable everything is and things are being done in haste - picture bull in a china shop. I absolutely believe the others in that this company oozes unethical behavior and many senior directors, especially in HR, consist of bullying personalities. I did not withdrawal my candidacy right away but was not surprised when I never received an offer, I would have passed on it regardless. Stay away!!
