I interviewed in July 2021.
I initially applied and the recruiter reached out to me via email to answer a list of questions including where I want to work, salary expectations, and a few behavioral questions. These questions were then sent to the hiring manager to review.
Following the hiring manager's approval, I had a video phone screen with the recruiter. He was not able to answer a lot of my questions about the role specifically. He had only been at Twitter for maybe 3-4 months. He told me he'd be speaking with the hiring manager the following day and could potentially set up an interview with them in the next week.
For 2/3 weeks, I had no response. I had to email and ask about the next steps in the process and was then told that the hiring manager was looking for someone with more experience using technical tools.
I don't understand why he would tell me that he was initially going to set up a meeting with the hiring manager or why I even got the video interview if the hiring manager already read my resume and responses to the email questions. A rejection email would've been nice in comparison to the weeks of silence.
