Was referred to the role via an ex colleague and friend. I attended a zoom call with the manager followed by a in person interview on their London office with two other managers. One of the interviewers was clearly unwell as she was sniffing and coughing the whole time which was concerning and distracting and she looked like she didn’t want to be there at all based on her facial expressions. I believed the interview went well but after a few days and having to chase up I was told that the role was filled internally. Now this wouldn’t normally be an issue for me however I paid to travel into London and the time spent there felt wasted if the role was likely to be filled internally anyway. Next time please save candidates the time of travelling to the office if you have internal candidates in play as we know you are more likely to progress them. For me this is also not a reasonable excuse to reject someone, I need tangible feedback that I can put to use otherwise this becomes a very one sided experience. The person that referred me wasn’t even informed that I didn’t get the role so I had to tell them myself which was also a red flag as they don’t seem to respect the referral process properly.
Quick screening for a first alignment, the recruiter was really nice and was really trying to understand about my experience, he also shared a little bit about the company and job expectations.

Entretien
3 stages on interviews, smooth communication, every step was marked with the topics to prepare, and that was well in line regarding what was actually asked on the interview. The role was also described in a separate file, but I understand this is not how they recruit to every position, just the way it was done for that specific role
