Wing's recruiting practices seem to signify what's transactional and broken about recruiting nowadays. The recruiter was polite and asked some thoughtful questions. A noticeable portion of our conversation was spent on very basic details already covered in my resume, which felt like wasted time.
I withdrew my candidacy and sent a thoughtful note that was never acknowledged. Yet I received a separate generic rejection email, which again, really suggests transactional practices and a lack of attention to detail. When I pointed out that I had already withdrawn, there was still no response.
This may sound like nitpicking, but it matters. All candidates should leave with a positive impression of an interview process, especially in a tight-knit industry.
