The application was long, required a long list of documents, several tests that took hours. The test itself was horribly written in a strange format I had never seen before and the form kept creating errors as I filled it out. The grammar portion of the tests gave multiple correct answers and often would contain no "correct" answer by any manual of style I am familiar with. (I have extensive experience with many versions of the Chicago Manual of Style). The language on the forms made it clear that it was not written by a native English speaker and there were often glaring grammatical errors in the test questions.
