I had THE worst interviewing experience with Wavestone.
I had two rounds of in-person interviews. No phone screening calls, no case interviews.
First round was with two managers and one partner. First interview was with two managers, where the managers introduced themselves and gave a presentation about Wavestone. This interview was more for me to learn about Wavestone. Second interview was with a partner. He asked a few behavioral questions, particularly in relation to past sales and business development experiences. At the end of the interview, one of the manager took me out for coffee for a casual chat.
Second round was with two partners and one manager. I was initially told the second round would be a case interview but it ended up being in the same format as the first round (i.e., general/behavioral q's from partners and getting-to-know-Wavestone session with the manager).
One of the partners was extremely unprofessional and rude. She asked me about my nationality (illegal question to ask during an interview!) and pressed me to disclose my past clients. I almost fell out of my chair when she asked me these questions. Ethics and compliance anyone?
Overall, I observed that the company puts a lot of pressure on managers to sell work--I was told that a manager has a $1M sales target each year. At the time of interviewing, one partner had recently left the company and there was only one director. This seemed to have put even more pressure and unrealistic expectations on the managers.
