I applied for a Lead Product Owner role and secured an initial phone screening with a recruiter. Immediately after beginning the call it become clear the recruiter had no context for the questions she was asking. I asked for clarification on one of the questions and she replied that she did not know, she was just supposed to read from a list of questions. My concern is that if she was incapable of understanding the questions she was asking then likely she was incapable of understanding my responses. I was not told the call was recorded so I must rely on this person dictating my responses. At the end of the call I asked when I can expect an update and she replied it could be, "tomorrow or in the next couple weeks". It's been 2.5 weeks and the Walgreens site says my application is still under review.

I'm an internal candidate, so spoke with the hiring manager prior to applying for the position. The hiring manager described the responsibilities of the position, listened to my experience and skills and encouraged me to apply.
