      Entretien

I came to my interview like 25 minutes late due to car issues, (ran out of gas) and I was still accepted not only for the interview, but I also got the job as well! I walked inside when I got there and told one of the waitresses I was there for my interview and gave her my first and last name! She took it down then proceeded to immediately offer me something to drink, which was pretty cool and super nice of her to offer me! She gave me my sweet-tea (I chose) and told me that I could sit anywhere I like, that her manager would be out shortly to speak with me. I went to sit down, and sip on my tea and here comes the manager not even 4 minutes later! She came out to me pretty fast! She was super cool and sweet as could be, as she introduced herself and asked me if I already filled out my online application which I told her "yes". (((This question made literally ZERO SENSE to me, given HOW in the world would I have else been told to come to this interview and gave a specific date and time to come if I DIDN'T already fill out my online application.... Anyways, I told the manager "yes" that I did complete my online application, and she literally gave me a paper application for me to hurry and fill out AGAIN! I truthfully hate filling out applications of I am being honest, as I think and believe we ALL truthfully do. However, I was gave the paper application and a pen, and she asked me to fill it out and she would be back in a little bit! She went back to the back room, I guess to finish with a few things she was busy with while I filled out my application for the 2nd time! About 10 minutes later, she came back out and asked me if I was done, but I told her I was not. I like to be specific and detailed on my applications because I want companies to get to know me to some degree for the person I truly am when reading them. Otherwise, I just imagine my application being bland, and not actually sticking out to them as mine may look the same as every other persons who may have applied. She said it was okay, and asked me if I would come sit with her at this table in the back right corner so we could hurry and do the interview part. We both went to sit down at the table in the back right corner, and she just began by telling me her name again. Then told me I would have to dye the highlight in my hair from blue to a more natural color, as I laughed and totally agreed with her and told her I would do and get right onto changing that! She then began to just tell me that as far as sexual harassment goes, to please come to her before saying or doing anything. Also how they of course have a no discrimination policy against race, religion, bla,bla,bla... The usual. Then she explained to me how they will provide me with a hat or a sun visor, as well as my name tag, and a shirt. She said I would be gave 2 shirts for work! However, I would have to provide my shoes, and pants! She explained to me that I will need slip-proof shoes given how I am applying to be a waitress and things such as food and drinks get spilled here and there if not a lot. Asked me if I could come back tomorrow at 1p.m to finish doing and filling out some paper work, and I of course told her I could. She then began explaining that the day after tomorrow (Thursday May 16th,2024) they will be starting training and I would basically be watching videos, etc. and the lady hosting the training would let us go outside to have 2 or 3 smoke breaks. She also told me to eat before I came to my training, or come like 30 minutes earlier to eat. I am assuming I would have to still buy my own food if I did choose to come there early to eat... I'm not sure as she didn't really specify on that part. She told me training last for up to 3 weeks, however if I felt as though I may need more training once we got at the 3 week mark, that I could most certainly continue to go forward with training until I did feel confident and prepared enough. She said on Thursday when training begins that training will be from 9:00a.m until about 1 to 2p.m. But I am going to go ahead and just assume it will be from 9a.m until 2:00p.m. Which is fine with me. The manager also told me that while in training for those 3 weeks from 9a.m to 2p.m, that I would be paid $12.00 an hour for doing training which is pretty cool. However, if I am being honest, $12.00 an hour is nothing nowadays given how everything cost the price of a kidney AND a lung! So although $12.00 an hour is better than nothing, I still view that pay as though it is disrespectful and nothing but a spit in my face! However, I just think to myself that hopefully and MAYBE it will pay off once I am done with the 3 week training and I actually begin my job being a waitress on the floor and actually earning real tips! I hope anyways.... But yeah! She told me that during those 3 weeks of training, I would be paid $12.00 an hour. She did NOT tell me what days training is help for those 3 weeks, which is crazy now that I look back on it..

      Question 1

Can I work from 10p.m. until 7a.m? Could I change the blue highlights in my hair? Can I provide my own slip-proof shoes? Could I come back the next/following day to fill and complete more paperwork?

The interview process was very easy. The manager I interviewed with was very nice and easy to talk to. He told me everything that was expected. Unfortunately that store was not hiring for my schedule.
