      Entretien pour Senior Data Analyst

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Victaulic (Easton, PA) en sept. 2025

      Entretien

I applied for a systems analyst position, and was contacted a while later instead regarding the senior data analyst position (which indeed appeared to be a better fit). I spoke with the recruiter for a bit about the position, who was very positive, and he then set up an online interview with myself and the hiring manager for the following week. I was then surprised to see that my interview with the hiring manager was only scheduled to be a half hour, as that didn’t seem like enough time to properly discuss a position like this. When the interview began, I barely got an introduction from the hiring manager, with no explanation of what the expectations for the position were, or any significant details about the position at all. The hiring manager then started reading what appeared to be standardized questions off of their laptop, and within five minutes of starting the interview, I was reasonably sure I wasn’t getting the position. I’m fairly sure the hiring manager was checking emails during my answers, and didn’t ever seem remotely interested in anything I was saying. When the hiring manager was done asking questions after twenty minutes I knew for sure I wouldn’t be moving forward. Quite frankly, the experience was slightly insulting and a waste of my time. I honestly have no idea why I was being interviewed apart from it allowed a box to be checked somewhere, especially since the company *reached out to me* regarding the position - I never directly applied for it. And given the very positive conversation I’d had about the position with the recruiter and how well my work experience lined up with the position, the follow up interview was incredibly disappointing, not because I didn’t move forward, but because of the obvious lack of interest. If for some strange reason I had been asked to move forward in the process, I would’ve declined, simply because of the negative experience with speaking with the manager, who did not come across as someone I ever would want to work with, let alone report to.
