I applied on 6/10 through LinkedIn, then received an email on 6/16 to schedule a phone interview with JoJo. Our phone interview was on 6/18, which was detailed yet informal. He even thanked me for taking the time to interview as he understands how much applicants go through interviewing & stated that they wanted to move quickly for this role. This set a great tone with me that unfortunately later changed. On 6/23, I received an email to move forward in the process with the exact words “Due to our desire to move quickly, we will schedule the next round differently.”, this prompted asking for my availability for the next day. I quickly responded & was scheduled to meet with the hiring manager on 6/24. The interview with the hiring manager involved more situational & hypothetical questions yet remained informal. She stated that JoJo would follow up in the next 24-48 hours, 72 hours at the latest. That is when Vertosa lost any appreciation or positivity I had for them. I essentially was ghosted but sent a follow-up email for a status update to Jojo on 7/1 (a week later). He responded on 7/2 stating that some business priorities popped up but expected to have an update by early next week.
Now two weeks later on 7/16, I get a “Thanks for taking significant time & effort for the position but we have decided to move forward with other candidates.”. By this time, I had already written Vertosa off & accepted another job but it is important for people considering working for Vertosa in the near future to know my experience.
Unfortunately, the urgency to “move quickly”, quick response times & respect of my time disappeared when it came down to the final interview. Instead of just being honest upfront as they interviewed other candidates they chose to be silent which as completely changed my opinion of the company.
