I got a call from the recruiter and an interview was set up with Director who assumed to be a the technical expert. Without even going into the role and job description and formal talk he directly jump into the technical questions, design and architecture of the system i worked in the past. He was mostly interested in the job i have done 10 years before than what I am currently doing. In my opinon, there was not a devops role even. I explained everything what i worked on since last 13 years of my experience and finally he passed the judgement as i was doing developer work thnt devops work. This is peculiar as i have heard from other candidate too that director does not what to ask even and he judges you based on what you have not done in your IT experience. Moreover, he is more interested in finding that i can work after office hours or not. This is the second thing that drew my attention about verisk analytics that the company particularly in jersey city location support the culture of working after office hours/ weekends as well. (unhealthy lifestyle). As soon as I was being honest that i do not support the unhealthy culture the interview suddenly went into different direction. Those who really wants to grow should definitely stay away from this company. You might not see the results of progress of the company now but I seriously doubt the way they are building the team recently.
