I am extremely frustrated with how my interview went. To start I was sent a message on LinkedIn to apply for the position because I was a great fit. Therefore, I did because everything lined up. I then got an email saying they accepted my application and would love to have an interview with me. I spent at least 5 hours researching and preparing for my interview. I got onto the call and when the interview started it was then discovered I do not have a degree however I do have an educational certificate. And that is when the interview became very unprofessional. I was then instead of being interviewed I was being interrogated as to why I thought it was okay to apply. Here is where my confusion and frustration lies. First off, the recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn, where not only is my resume but my portfolio is also available for anyone to see. And secondly, I am beyond confused as to why I am expected to spend my time preparing for an interview when the recruiter can't even do his job. And finally, if the recruiter would have just continued with the interview anyways he would have seen I was prepared, professional, and knew what I was talking about. A degree doesn't mean anything nowadays unless you are a doctor or lawyer. Because obviously you have a recruiter with a degree that is extremely unprofessional and does not do his job.
