Applied in store for job on a Monday and got a phone call the next day saying that I had a group interview on the Friday. I arrived on the day ten minutes before the interview and was told by another member of staff to “go away for 10 minutes, walk around the shopping centre for a bit or something.” So I left and came back, and I was lead to group of 20 people all waiting for the group interview (this was the smallest group interview that I have attended). For the interview there were two interviewers. We were told that our group interview was to be held on the shop floor, we were then asked to introduce ourselves and to tell them why we wanted the job. We were then split into smaller groups and asked to create a outfit with a customer in mind. We were then asked to explain why we picked the pieces and so forth. This is where the professionalism of the two interviewers went out the window. A group was made entirely made out of girls and the girls were fighting to all have a say as to why they picked certain pieces. The interviewers made a “joke” about cat fighting and picked on the three girls that were talking the most. They made “jokes” at their expense. The rest of the interview was pretty much the same, an activity was set, we split into groups and then the interviewers were unprofessional. The mood dropped as people felt that they were going to be picked on. I didn’t like the atmosphere that was set in the interview. It felt very clicky, and that was just the interview.

Group interview with atleast 10 others. Maybe about 30 minutes. Best to tell stories of customer experience for answers to better highlight self. It was about 10 questions long with two store managers.
