J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 1 jour. J'ai passé un entretien chez V.Group (Glasgow, Écosse) en nov. 2022
Entretien
It was just a conversational interview (done via MS teams) about my past experience and the technologies I am using in my current job. They also asked some interesting HR/personality questions. They explained what the company does and provided information about the role. They were all very friendly and pleasant. I am fairly certain they were going to give me an offer until I said I would prefer to go to the office only once a week. They required a minimum of 3 times a week. This was frustrating as the recruiter had assured me the number of times at the office was flexible or I would not have applied to begin with. I think they figured (rightfully) that if I accepted this role and had to commute for 2.5 hours a day 3 times I week, I wouldn't stay with the company for very long. So they rejected me because I do not have enough backend experience (no backend skills were mentioned in the job description). I would suggest: - Start being more flexible with WFH and allow for a more flexible working schedule (currently it's 9 -5.30) or start offering significantly higher salaries. You will struggle to attract or maintain any talented developers otherwise. -Make sure your job descriptions are reflecting the role responsibilities. You are hiring a WPF C# developer (and you are offering the appropriate salary) but you are expecting them to work as a full-stack developer on both desktop and android applications. -Make sure the supervisor/line-manager is present in the interview. I asked which one would be my line manager and they could not give me a straight answer. -Introduce some technical questions. I was surprised nobody tested my knowledge on anything.
