I sent in my application to Unum via their company website. Within a couple of weeks, they sent me an email asking to set up a phone interview, with a pre-interview questionnaire to fill out. The phone interview lasted about 30 minutes. At the end of the interview, they scheduled me for an in-person hour-length critical thinking test the following week. Within a day after the test, I was sent a link to complete a Caliper Assessment online. This assessment was completed online at home, and took several hours. The Caliper questions ranged from pattern recognition to personality questions. I did not hear from Unum for a couple of weeks. When I contacted them inquiring about the position, they said that the position had been closed, but my information was forwarded on to another position.

I had a phone interview and was scheduled for the next morning for a video interview with the hiring manager. The phone interview was basically an introduction to see if you'd be a possible candidate for a formal interview. The phone interview gave an overview of the company & position and asked for an overview of your work experience. The interview with the hiring manager(s) was the STAR format. Make sure you do your research and prepare questions to ask the interviewer(s).
