      Entretien

Started with a call from an internal recruiter where I was asked basic qualification questions. I then moved on to a zoom interview with the head of the team. Asked pretty standard questions about my work history/strengths etc as well as a few technical questions, and gave me ample space to ask my own questions about the team and the work environment etc. Next was 2 1hr Technical interviews, with some 15-30min codility questions that dealt with data structures, and OOP principles. Was given choice of language and chose c#. The tech interviews were far better than a lot of places it was more of a dialog rather than being judged harshly and silently while solving a problem they throw at you. They were more interested in me explaining how I was thinking and why. My only criticism is that the questions could probably be more tailored to the specific tech stack I would be using (in this case Unity Editor OnGUI and the various editor APIs). After this I had a 1hr interview with 2 team members: a product manager and another senior developer where I was asked more behavioural questions about teamwork and collaboration and how I've dealt with failures in the past. Finally they moved to the job offer stage and had to provide 2 manager references and 2 colleague references (the reference process is a bit more than I am used to in gamedev. Typically gamedev jobs your reference is just - here are the games I shipped) Throughout the process I had ample opportunity in every single interview to ask questions. It was about 50% them asking me things and 50% me asking questions. The process felt very mutual and less intense than most gamedev interviews I've endured. Additionally, throughout the whole process the recruiter kept me in the loop and maintained communication and asked me for feedback on my experience so far and she was great. (Thanks Dominique!) Overall a really good interview process. Be prepared to ask questions that show interest in the job and the company.
