Supposedly, there is a three to four step process; phone interview and/or in-person (one on one), panel interview (at least three panelists) and final meeting with the person in charge of the department.
I traveled about three hours away for the in-person interview and no one followed up with me regarding the final decision for the position.
Even after I reached out a few times, once via email to show gratitude for the opportunity and receive feedback from the interview directly with the point of contact -- whom I had correspondence with previously-- I called a couple times over a period of two weeks or so, yet still no response.
Out of professionalism and representing the organization in a positive view, when it comes to dealing with potential candidates the least one could do, is send an automatic email response "thank you...however, we have decided to..." or something to that affect. I was completely turned off with how this organization handled my request and not providing any kind of update, even if something else had occurred (i.e. position canceled, oversight).
Just beware if you don't hear anything back AFTER you've interviewed, you'll never know what happened! Especially since no one answers the phone and apparently there is only one person that handles calling candidates and setting up interviews.
