Make sure when you get a call for a “402” area code number that you answer right away because that’ll be from Union Pacific’s automated call from the headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska telling you to login into your account to schedule your interview. Make sure you schedule it ASAP as they interview in the order in who scheduled first out of your interviewing group. The 3 people will first tell you about their position in the company, about Union Pacific’s history, watch a few videos about Union Pacific, go over their great insurance plan, retirement, etc, and what you’d be doing as a mechanical service operator. The key to the interview is SAFETY! You eat,breath, and love safety! That’s a HUGE thing with Union Pacific. And make sure you do your research on the company as they will ask about what you already know. They want to see if you did your homework on Union Pacific prior to the interview.
