First, they do a first level phone interview. It included questions about general Object Oriented concepts which most developers should know. I did well, at which point they asked me to come in the next day. Wanted to defer to another date, but they pretty much demand you to come in or not continue the process. So I agreed. Then, a 2nd in person interview, which went into more depth and was about 1 hr 45 minutes. Two people interviewed, with a whiteboard to write down what you know. One of the interviewers was very haphazard; it seemed he did not have any predetermined questions, but just asked new questions as you answered other questions. I thought I did decently well, being able to answer pretty much everything they asked. Had a talk with the main hiring manager, and he said he would make a decision in 2 weeks. Waited for a while, but after 2 weeks, still no contact and I got another offer elsewhere which I accepted. Then, nearly a month after the interview, the hiring manager sends a code challenge to solve and give back ASAP. I thought to myself why they would send a coding challenge a month after interviewing. They need to realize good developers do not stay in the market very long. Anyways, I felt they were not serious in hiring nor were they serious in valuing a candidate’s time. In my opinion, good companies that want you will tend to make a quick decision; not keep you in the dark the whole time in the interview process.
