The inital interview I had with the first interviewer (MF) was in my top 3 of horrible interviews I've had in my career.
To start, I applied via the company website and the recruiter reached out via linked in asking for my email address (which is located at the top of my resume I submitted to the company). I provided my email and another recruiter reached out and asked to provide the following information:
Do you have experience working for an agency? Media? Supporting Pharma Clients?
Agency Yes/No
Media Agency Yes/No
Pharma Yes/No
Please give a brief description of your work with an agency supporting pharma client's media needs
Please illustrate the duration of your most recent position including the agency's name and day-to-day responsibilities.
Describe your favorite campaign that you launched and how you developed that recommendation. Include how you achieved the goals, and any challenges faced.
What is your Phone number:
Again, all of this information is CLEARLY on my resume that now is clear they did not review. I answered their questions and then was given 3 days/time for the first interview. I replied to the email request within 10 minutes securing a date for a 1 week in the future. Life gets busy and I realize the day before the interview this recruiter never confirmed the date/time or sent a calendar invite. When I reached out, no response and then the day of the interview I receive an email from the recruiter that the interview has a scheduling conflict (I'm pretty sure the conflict is this recruiter didn't book the time and sucks at their job). So the interview is moved to the following with with 3 hours notice. RED FLAG!!
When the interview finally happens the woman on the video call clearly does NOT want to here. She is sighing, her body language clearly shows she she is SO over this and 20 of these today and doesn't give AF.
She asks me "Did the recruiter tell you anything about this intervew?" I reply, "No, they did not." And then she says, "Tell me about that?" I get a confused look on my face and say "They didn't tell me any information." She says, "yeah, tell me about that". LADY THEY DID NOT SEND ME ANY INFORMATION AT ALL. I smile and tell her that I haven't had the best interaction with their recruiter, blah blah blah..
She asks me two behavioral questions and records them so the recruiter can evaluate my answers (mind you, they are pretty much the same question). She then turns off the recording and goes into a spiel about the company culture (again very disinterested in being on this call). I ask a few questions about company culture (Do you all keep cameras on? Are there weekly huddles, etc).
Why is this company starting with culture before they evaluate if the job in question and my background are a match. From my standpoint, I dont know if this job and my background are a match, why are we talking about National Pizza Day? The interview had a 30 minute time frame and we were done in 20. I haven't heard from the recruiter since and good thing because I am not desperate enough to work for a company who treats candidates like this. It was HORRIBLE and a true waste of my time. I would not recommend Underscore Marketing if they keep their hiring process this way.
