J'ai postulé via une agence de recrutement. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Uber
Entretien
A recruiting firm applied on my behalf. Interview was quickly scheduled. Their recruiter was responsive and process was smooth.
The first round (coding) didn't go well for me, but interviewer probably considered my experience and sent me to second round (design). The interviewer was great and gave ample hints.
The design round was horrible. The main interviewer was shadowing someone who was obviously not qualified to take design rounds for senior folks. He kept interrupting me throughout the interview. The design problem was very rudimentary for a 7-8y exp candidate, and the interviewer even failed to ask good questions on reliability etc. Uber rejected me after this round, and I wasn't surprised.
Still unable to understand the logic behind using unqualified interviewers for senior folks, felt disrespectful to me.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Coding round: evaluate prefix expression.
Design round: design a shopping site (only product listings and search).
Surprisingly, the interview felt quite straightforward, especially for a senior role. I started with a technical screen, where I was asked to design an Uber Eats cart service. It caught me off guard initially, but then I remembered a specific mock I had practiced on PracHub that was nearly spot-on with this scenario. The final round included some behavioral questions, and although I received an offer, I ultimately decided to decline. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Round 1 - Coding
Question: Count Rectangle-Line Intersections. Given a set of rectangles and a set of vertical line segments, count how many places the vertical lines intersect the rectangle edges (ignoring edge-on-edge overlaps).

2 coding phases + 1 system design + 1 behavior.
It followed the Big Tech interview process.
The interviewers were nice and supportive,
I really enjoyed the process.
You must be sharp at your coding skills for sure,
they are very technical.
