      Entretien pour Program Manager

      21 oct. 2016
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      Bengaluru
      Aucune offre
      Expérience neutre
      Entretien facile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Uber (Bengaluru) en oct. 2016

      Entretien

Applied through employee referral and received an email after a few days about a "creative test" which was more a strategy case study. I was given two days to submit my proposal. I heard back after over a week from HR who briefly spoke to me about my past and current experiences. Later, two back to back 1:1 video interviews were scheduled in the same week. Interviewers were Program Mangers, both pleasant and briefly spoke about the current process for about 5 mins each and the rest of the 40 minutes were situational/personality questions. Now, I thought everything went well apart from a few technical glitches during the video interviews but I received a GENERIC email from the recruitment team stating "it was a hard decision but they have decided to go another way this time". I accept the rejection graciously responding to the email with a thank you note but having spent a great deal of energy and thought in my presentation and having gone so far in the process, I was naturally left wondering how I measure up to other candidates. So I request brief feedback about my presentation ( which was not talked about at all during the entire process) as well as brief feedback on my interviews and I received the strangest response from the recruiter. They said that "As a process we don't share feedback from our interview process. Since you went through the process, self contemplation will be the best thing to do here" This response is not only unprofessional but also laughable. What kind of a reputable organization that takes themselves seriously would ask a prospective employee who gave so much time to be a part of the very same system to "contemplate" about where they went wrong?! I understand recruitment is a rigorous process but do you understand EMPATHY and LOGIC? I do feel dejected that I was not their best man for the role but I did try MY VERY BEST as most people do at interviews for companies they are passionate about. All I wanted to hear was some honest mature feedback about where was the plausible mismatch (cultural, technical, analytical, experience) as clearly no amount of "self contemplation" will give me that clarity. As members of human resources and recruitment, the response could have easily been well considered and empathetic. Utterly disappointed.

I've reached only first round of interview with hiring manager. She was friendly and explained me the stages. But I felt that I am not going to the next round of interviews.
