J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez US Air Force (Jacksonville, FL) en août 2010

The recruiter I had was awesome. He really helped prepare me for basic training and the Air Force by being down to earth and providing insight. The process really wasn't that hard. Filling out all the paperwork is time consuming but you can do it all in about 4 hours. The interview process after that was at the military entrance processing station and that was about a 2 day process because I had to take the ASVAB while I was there. While you're there you receive physical exams, eye exams, and hearing exams. Once you pass those you speak with another recruiter and tell them what jobs you prefer. They make sure you meet the criteria for them and then submit your request. You also enter the delayed entry program while you're there. Once you get back it took about 3 weeks to hear what job I got and it was about 6 months after that when I shipped out for basic training.

Long medical review and a lot of paperwork. There are various positions for growth within the career field that have various interview and application processes as well. You will have to go to MEPS (Medical Entrance Processing Station) once to a few times based on your medical history. You will do an in-depth medical review, you will answer questions with your recruiter and then go to basic training.
