HR call, director zoom, in-office with TL (1st tech interview), in-office (2nd tech interview) with site manager and VP of everything and a toxic mid-level engineer which is also a tech lead, an architect and a salesman apparently.
First few interviews were nice, pleasant and to the point. I made clear I'm looking for a hands-on position and it was accepted and acknowledged by the director and the TL.
The director also said their current code and some implementation decisions were bad, and overall, it sounded like they are looking for a seasoned engineer that can bring quality.
only the 2nd tech interview (which had nothing to do with tech) one was a mess. I had to stop the interview since it was very toxic.
The interviewers have no knowledge of basic concepts in managing and/or engineering.
Throughout the interview I wasn't able to complete 2 sentences without interjection from the interviewing engineer who was passive-aggressive, and the site manager, which is also his upper-level manager, didn't intervene and stopped him at any stage.
In the end, they had the nerve to diagnose me like it was some psychological evaluation and expected me to sit there while I'm being wrongly characterized.
I would not recommend working there if this is how they treat candidates, employees, and peers.
