Applied Sunday evening, got an email Thursday evening asking if I'm available for an interview, got an email invite for an interview on Monday. Interview on Wednesday. Was interviewed by the operations manager and the only other marketing person in the company. Asked questions about my university course and a lot about my experience. It went alright but I didn't feel like the company was being sold to me as somewhere I would love to work. At the end of the interview, I was told that before the second interview I would have to go to their blog, choose an article to promote on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn then write my experience on a word document and email it to them before the next interview where they'll base the interview off what I've done. I would say that was part of what turned me off the job, it's pretty much promoting them for free with no guarantee that I would be able to secure an employment with them, plus this would have been my first foray into marketing, how well I did on the promotion task in comparison to people with more experience in marketing would affect whether I could get an offer; I decided at that point I'll just leave the application and decline any invites for a second interview (should I receive one). Received an email Monday/Tuesday the following week saying "The standard of candidate applying for this role has been very high and I am afraid that I am not going to request that you complete the next stage task mentioned in the interview."
