I went to 2 different TJ stores on 4 different occasions and chatted up the crew member and was told each time that the interviewer was out of town and to come back on a certain date. On that 4th visit, the very personable interviewer approached me and started a friendly conversation, as he looked over my resume. My background was corporate, with no retail experience, but he made me feel very much at ease, and I tried to give him a picture of myself other than someone sitting inside a cubicle. We talked about 10 minutes, and he told me "you'll be hearing from me." I waited one month, then finally called them. The next day, they scheduled an appointment. Two very sweet women interviewed me, one after the other, saying that normally they allow a couple of days between interviews, but they were going to continue the interview with the other person right after the first. They were warm and friendly and for about 45 minutes I talked a lot, told them that I was a big foodie, that my son and his wife were big fans, and that many of my friends shopped at TJ and praised it highly. I told them that the reason I wanted to work there was because all of the employees looked so happy and I liked the energy.
