I applied online and received an email telling me to call the store for a phone screening. I didn’t make it past the phone screening and could immediately tell the manager I spoke to was not going to move forward with me. A little background - my most recent role was in marketing, managing a small team below me. We were unfortunately a part of a mass layoff that happened, and I was honest about this in my interview. Maybe I shouldn’t have been? Right when I brought up my previous experience in marketing the tone of the interview immediately changed, and the manager I spoke with was almost dismissive, asking why I wanted to go from marketing to this, and asking if I knew what their pay rate was. I remained positive on the phone and attempted to reassure her that I understood the pay and what I was applying for, even though it was a different direction from what I had previously done. She ended the call after that and I received an email saying they were not moving forward with me.

pretty good, asked a lot of questions, nice people, I have been a shopper with trader joes, the people are helpful, and I have done a lot of work in customer services, and I believe I will be a great fit at trader joes.
