Ok so I needed a job and decided to look around. I used job-hunt websites and saw that the Babies "R" Us was hiring so I was like cool im up for it. I started the application around January 15 but it was really long and I ended up finishing it about a week after. I got call a week after I submitted the application (sometime early February), the girl said if I was interested in an interview with them and of course I said yes. Since I was super excited, I googled interview process/tips, and ended up seeing that most likely it would end up being a group interview, and that it would consist of very "fun" activities. Immidietly I was contemplating on going because im extremely shy, and I thought I wasn't going to be able to do it. But I couldn't really pass on the offer, luckily I found this website and it helped alot im pinpointing exactly what the interview would consist of. So the day of the interview, I get their a couple of minutes late, luckily the manager was extremely polite that he didn't much care. I got to the room and their was 3 other people. The manager first asked around what was everyone's previous job, and everyone had retail experience but me. (I said something about it being my first job oppertunity, and I said it in an extremely shaky voice). After that slip, we had to interview a partner and then present him to the manager. (Fairly easy, I could've done better though). After we had to pretend to be a favorite cartoon character and act like them without talking. Then the manager brought out a basket and dumped out a bunch of products and we had to sell it to them. (This was my most dreadful part, cause I felt like the attention was all on me, but it wasn't at all. Each person was focusing on what to say that they weren't even paying attention, and the manager was just smiling and nodding) . After I expected a 1-1 interview, but the manager just gave out general information on the rewards program, tips on selling, etc. And we were sent off and told they would contact us.

Applied online. Was called in for a group interview. I was among about 10 other interviewees. We all sat in the office together with the Store Manager and Human Resource Supervisor. They asked us each a few questions in front of everyone. Then we were split in to two teams and presented with a couple of buckets of Legos on the table. We were told that each team had to come up with an idea for a toy, and design it out of Legos. It had to be a toy that you could also think of "add-on" toys for. Someone from the team then had to pitch and "sell" the toy line to the room. After the group interview we were each pulled in to speak 2 on 1, and told if we were being extended the job offer or not.

Applied on a Sunday got a call on Monday to set up an interview on Tuesday. Group interview with 4 others. It was a really comfortable setting we all introduced ourselves and said our favorite toy as a kid. We then were asked to build something and tell them what we built and why. Next we were asked to go get any toy we wanted from the floor and sell it to them. I recommend practicing this because I did so I went first. After we finished we returned the toys to where we grabbed them and were then told they would call us in separately for an interview and after we were free to leave. While they were talking with one person they rest of us were getting to know each other. I would say it was actually a pretty fun group interview. They told me they would tell me by 5pm the next day if I got the job. They ended up calling me and hour after to offer me the job and submitted a background check. Once it cleared orientation was set up the following day.
