J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Toptal en mai 2020
Entretien
I had never heard about this company before I was contacted by their recruiter, but decided to try it. There are 4 steps overall. The last two are technical screenings through a web cam. I got to the last step where I was presenting a project and this was the worst interview experience I have ever had. The interviewer was very rude and full of himself. I understood that I was not going to pass the moment he started talking.
They told me to carefully read the requirements before submitting the project, but during the interview he asked why I didn't do a certain thing, that was not even in the scope. And when I said this was not in the requirements, he asked me if requirements specifically stated not to do it. Half way through the interview I was just waiting for it to be over.
From the company that claims they hire the top talent, I was expecting a professional interviewer who is able to at least get over himself and stay humble for an hour.
They gave me an option to retry in 3 months (which they seem to give to everyone), but after having such an unpleasant experience I have no intention of dealing with them again.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
The whole interview was about presenting a project that you would have to complete per the requirements they send to you in advance.
In 10 mins, automate a relatively complex end-to-end scenario. I tried to generate robust locators for WebElements (not "Copy XPath" from dev tools), but time was not enough for that and I backed out. Interviewer told me that "Copy XPath" whould have been Ok. So much for quality ...
One year later I tried to apply again (ready to "Copy XPath" this time), but could not. Support tells me that they permanently closed my application for cheating. Say what?!!
