TopDevz outsourced its technical interview process to a 3rd party - eteki.com. During the interview, I was asked to show my ID. Since the entire interview process was recorded and shared with TopDevz, my ID along with my birthday was also recorded and shared. This is a very questionable practice as an employer is not supposed to ask age related information during interview.
The questions asked during the interview had little to do with site reliability engineer experience such as trouble-shooting and capacity planning. The questions were mostly Linux SysAdmin questions such as how to set up user permissions after I specifically told the interviewer that I am not a Linux SysAdmin.
Also I was not able to ask any question regarding to the job opening because the interviewer knew nothing about the job opening.
With the outsourced technical interview process that is disconnected with the job opening, it seems that TopDevz will end up hiring the wrong people for their jobs.
