Applied online, great recruitment phase then interviewed with a senior leader in technology which I believe was a super nice guy but his questions were SO specific that it made no sense (do you know software XYZ). That made no sense (to me) as the role wasn't about app dev for that specific software. I guess my point is that they didn't know what they were really looking for which is ok to some extent.
